The Rockland Community College Transitioning to College Success Seminar is designed to prepare students for the transition from high school to college and enable them to be self-sustaining, successful college students.

This seminar will focus on four key areas:
• Accessing Campus Resources
• Adjusting to College Life-Time Management
• Equal Access
• Career Awareness
Understanding the basics of these four content areas is essential to the success of students in the first several weeks of transitioning to college, and the seminar aims to develop skills such as self-advocacy, critical thinking, and resourcefulness.

Students will hear from a student panel about the expectations of higher education and the pitfalls to avoid, followed by sessions on support services
and planning for academic success.

For parents and guardians, the workshop will feature a Q&A with the Director of Accessibility Services and Marion M. Walsh, Esq., Littman Krooks LLP to address a number of important topics, including how to support your child and yourself through the transition, discussions on the differences between services in high school and college, and lessons on nurturing today’s students to become happy and healthy adults.

The Transitioning to College Success Seminar is FREE! We encourage all students with a documented disability who are just beginning college and seeking more information about the college experience to attend, along with their parents. Technology Center, Ellipse
