Arshi Pal
Arshi focuses her practice on special education, special needs planning and estate planning. Arshi is honored to be a voice for some of the most vulnerable individuals of our community.
Arshi passionately advocates to obtain the appropriate supports and services for the unique needs of the individuals. Arshi participates in CSE meetings to collaborate with school officials to ensure students are receiving programming and services tailored to help them make meaningful progress. However, when the collaborative approach is insufficient to obtain the student the support they require, Arshi zealously represents students and their families in special education impartial hearings. Arshi also represents Parents in State Review Officer appeals and Federal Court matters. Prior to Arshi’s admission to the bar as an attorney, she worked for approximately 10 years in an elementary school. Here, she worked with children from diverse backgrounds and academic levels. She noted the lack of services for many of the students and that many Parents were unaware regarding their rights to request such services. This along with her experience as an AmeriCorps Team Leader, fueled her aspiration to get involved in a meaningful way to help the students.
Arshi recognizes that although an appropriate education is the foundation for an individual’s future, proper planning needs to be in place. As such, Arshi also advises families regarding various special needs planning tools such as guardianships, supplemental needs trusts and advance directives. Along with trusts, Arshi also drafts estate planning documents including last wills and testaments.
Arshi graduated Brooklyn Law School in the Two year Accelerated JD program. Arshi is a Brooklyn Law Students for the Public Interest Fellow. She has interned for the NYC Department of Social Services and US Attorney’s Office Immigration department at the graduate level.
Arshi is a freelance writer; she likes to write poetry and short stories in her free time.
